This hiking route takes you through the breathtaking area of La Grand-Place. The trail is 6.568 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 168 meters, making it a moderate difficulty hike.
As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area right at the beginning of the trail. Further along the path, about 3.09 kilometers from the start, you'll encounter the fascinating Grotte de l'Homme mort, a cave entrance that is definitely worth exploring.
Continuing on, at around 2.48 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Arcs de Saint-Pierre et ruines protohistoriques, an archaeological site with ancient ruins that provide an intriguing glimpse into the past.
Around 3.28 kilometers into the hike, you will find the Grotte de la Baumelle, another cave entrance, although this one is a bit off the main trail. It's recommended to stay on the designated path for safety reasons.
At 0.03 kilometers from the start, there is a beautiful rock formation known as La Grand-Place, which serves as a great resting point and a picturesque spot for taking in the surroundings.
Make sure to stay hydrated along the way, as there is a spring called Fontaine de Cassagnes located 0.06 kilometers from the start. Additionally, you can learn more about the area at various information points, such as one located 0.87 kilometers from the start.
As you reach the turnaround point of the hike and start making your way back, you'll pass by the Ancien village de résiniers, an ancient village site, at about 2.58 kilometers from the start.
Before concluding your hike, be sure to visit the viewpoint at 2.87 kilometers from the beginning, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
