This challenging 9.35-kilometer out-and-back hiking route on the Route du Piton Bleu will take you through the beautiful natural landscapes of the area. The trail starts at a parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before starting your adventure.

As you make your way along the trail, you will come across several water sources where you can rest and rehydrate. Around 2.71 kilometers into the hike, there is a water source located close to the trail, providing a refreshing spot to take a break.

Further along the route, at 4.1 kilometers from the start, you will encounter another parking area, marking a good turnaround point if you prefer a shorter hike. As you continue, you will pass by a viewpoint located 0.21 kilometers from the starting point, offering stunning panoramic views of the surroundings.

One of the highlights of the hike is reaching the Col de Bébour, a saddle point located just 0.09 kilometers from the trail. From here, you can appreciate the natural beauty of the area and take a moment to soak in the peaceful atmosphere.

Before heading back, at around 0.55 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Piton de la Plaine des Cafres, a peak that offers a great vantage point to admire the landscape.

With an elevation gain of 178 meters, this hike is considered difficult due to its length and terrain. It is important to come prepared with plenty of water, snacks, and appropriate hiking gear.
