This extremely difficult hiking route to Punta Gallinero spans a distance of 13.529 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1617 meters. It is expected to take approximately 7 hours and 10 minutes to complete. The trail is an out-and-back type, meaning hikers will retrace their steps on the way back.
The hike begins at a parking area, located right at the trailhead. As you set off on your journey, you will come across a bar where you can grab a quick refreshment 0.06 kilometers into the hike. Further along the trail, at the 0.75-kilometer mark, you will encounter an attraction that offers beautiful views.
As you continue your ascent, you will reach a peak at the 4.82-kilometer mark, where you can take in stunning panoramic views of the surroundings. Around the 6.09-kilometer point, there is a natural spring where you can replenish your water supply.
At the 6.76-kilometer mark, you will reach Punta Gallinero, the ultimate destination of the hike. Here, you can enjoy breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment for reaching the peak. On the way back, you can take a break at the shelter located at the 2.04-kilometer mark to rest and refuel before continuing your descent.
