This extremely difficult hiking route takes you to the beautiful area of Caraiman. The trail is 12.203 kilometers long with a total elevation gain of 1497 meters, making it a challenging hike that will take approximately 6 hours and 34 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will come across several historical buildings such as Bloc muncitoresc, Colonia muncitorească a Fabricii de Hârtie, and Fostă Hală de producție. These landmarks are situated close to the beginning of the trail, allowing you to immerse yourself in the area's rich history right from the start.
As you continue on, you will pass by Cabana Caraiman, an alpine hut that offers a place to rest and take in the surrounding views. Further along the trail, you will also encounter the iconic Crucea Eroilor de pe Muntele Caraiman, a historic monument and attraction that marks a distance of 5.57 kilometers from the starting point.
For nature enthusiasts, Cascada Spumoasă and Caraiman ”Ghost” waterfall provide refreshing sights along the way, located at 1.38 and 3.49 kilometers from the start, respectively. Additionally, Terasa Valea Spumoasă, La Ion, and Pizzerie restaurant Alicia offer sustenance options not too far from the trail, perfect for a quick bite to eat.
As you reach the peak of Caraiman at 6.1 kilometers from the start, you will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Make sure to visit the various springs and viewpoints along the trail, such as Caraiman “Ghost” waterfall and the viewpoints at 6.04 and 5.1 kilometers from the start, respectively.
