This challenging hiking route covers a distance of approximately 10.4 kilometers with an elevation gain of 415 meters, taking around 3 hours and 26 minutes to complete. The trail is an out-and-back route located in a beautiful area with stunning natural landscapes.
Starting at the trailhead, hikers will encounter the first point of interest, the "Chemin 'Estany de la Balmeta'" at a distance of 0.19 kilometers from the start. This marked path leads to the picturesque "Étang de la Balmette" located 1.72 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. This serene lake offers a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the surrounding nature.
Continuing on, hikers will pass by the "Source de la Balmeta," a natural spring located 2.72 kilometers into the hike. It is recommended to refill water bottles here as there are limited water sources along the trail.
Around the midway point at 2.56 kilometers from the start, hikers will reach the "Cabane de La Balmeta," a shelter where one can rest and have a snack. This is a great place to refuel and recharge before heading back.
As you trek further along the trail, you will reach the "Estany de la Llosa" at 4.34 kilometers, a stunning lake surrounded by scenic views. This is a perfect spot to take in the beauty of the area and snap some photos.
During the hike, make sure to check the weather forecast and bring an adequate supply of water and snacks. Proper hiking gear and sturdy footwear are essential for this challenging terrain.
