This extremely difficult hiking route leads you through the stunning wilderness of the Pic de Portarras area. The trail, starting from Refuge de Campana de Cloutou, will take you on a 12.432-kilometer journey with an elevation gain of 751 meters.
As you embark on this challenging adventure, you'll encounter several points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you'll find the Cabane de Barrassé wilderness hut, a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the natural surroundings. Further along, around the 4.05-kilometer mark, you'll pass by the Réservoir des Laquets, another noteworthy water feature.
Midway through the hike, at around the 4.81-kilometer mark, you'll come across a refreshing water source, providing a much-needed respite. Continuing on, you'll reach the Cabane de Greziolles wilderness hut at approximately 4.68 kilometers from the start, offering a great opportunity to rest and recharge before heading back.
Although the Laquette de Gréziolles is located slightly off the trail at 5.85 kilometers, it's worth the extra distance for its stunning beauty. As you near the end of the route, at around 6.22 kilometers, you'll find another water source to replenish your supplies.
Remember to pack plenty of water, snacks, and essential hiking gear for this challenging journey. It's advisable to check the weather forecast before setting out and ensure you have proper navigation tools. Additionally, parking facilities are available at the trailhead for your convenience.
