Located in Chicago, the Lincoln Park Zoo hiking route offers a super easy and enjoyable trail for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. The route is an out-and-back type, starting at the East Lot parking area on North Clark Street.
As you begin your hike, you will pass by the AT&T Endangered Species Carousel and the Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller Monument. Further along the trail, you will find the Eugene Field Memorial and the Eli Bates Fountain (Storks at Play).
Midway through the route, you will come across the Kovler Sea Pool and the Park Place Cafe where you can take a break and enjoy a snack. As you continue, you will encounter various attractions including the African Penguin exhibit, Japanese Macaque, Red River Hog, and the African Painted Dog.
At the end of the trail, you will reach the Hope B. McCormick Swan Pond and the Trumpeter Swan area. Don't forget to check out the Charlie Haffner Kugel Fountain and take in the stunning views from the viewpoint along the trail.
