This hiking route takes you through a picturesque area near Rittersaal - B 42. The trail is approximately 5.4 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 266 meters, making it a moderate difficulty hike. It is estimated to take about 1 hour and 55 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will come across various points of interest along the way. About 0.3 kilometers from the start, you will find a fee-free parking area. Further along, at 1.7 kilometers from the start, you will pass by a viewpoint known as Naheblick, offering stunning vistas of the surroundings.
At approximately 2.3 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the Zauberhöhle attraction, followed by the historic Rossel castle at 2.42 kilometers. As you continue on, at 1.8 kilometers, there are picnic sites and a grillplatz for hikers to take a break and enjoy the scenery.
Midway through the hike, at around 1.7 kilometers, you will come across Jagdschloss Niederwald, a historic hunting lodge. For those interested in wildlife, Wildpark Niederwald, a zoo, is located around 1.73 kilometers from the start.
