This extremely difficult hiking route will take you to the stunning Pic de la Hage in the beautiful area.
As you start your journey, you will pass by the historic ruins of Porte de la Tour du Castéras, located just 0.14 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. Further along, at 9.25 kilometers from the start, you will come across the picturesque Étang de Saint-Béat, followed by Étang de Dessus at 10.25 kilometers.
During your hike, you will also encounter various amenities such as Capdevielle Parking (0.37 kilometers from the start), as well as several wilderness huts and shelters for accommodations including Cabane Courraus, Cabane Artiguessans, and Cabane Artigue.
As you proceed towards Pic de la Hage, you will reach Tiron de Sahaja Peak at 10.42 kilometers, and then the peak itself at the same distance. Additionally, you will come across historic sites like Wayside Crosses and artworks like La Statue de Sainte-Barbe along the trail.
With a total distance of 20.84 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1536 meters, this hike will challenge even the most experienced hikers. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this adventure.
