Hiking : Hoyo Claveles

Welcome to the Hoyo Claveles hiking route, a challenging and extremely difficult 14.3 km circular trail with an elevation gain of 823 meters. This trail will take you approximately 5 hours and 22 minutes to complete.

Located in a beautiful natural area, this trail offers stunning views and several points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the hike, you will find the Laguna de los Pájaros, a picturesque water feature just 5.1 km from the start of the trail. As you continue on, you'll come across the Laguna Chica de Peñalara, located 1.75 km from the start.

Further along the trail, at about 3.72 km from the start, you'll encounter another water feature. Be sure to stay hydrated during this challenging hike by taking advantage of these natural water sources. Additionally, there are several other water points throughout the trail, with some closer to the trail and others a bit further away.

As you approach the midway point of the hike, you'll reach the Collado de Quebrantaherraduras, a saddle point offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This is a great spot to take a break and refuel before continuing on the trail.

For those interested in peaks, the Cerro Claveles peak is located 6.56 km from the start, providing a rewarding summit to strive for during your hike. Along the way, you'll also come across various amenities such as benches and viewpoints to rest and take in the scenery.

Before embarking on this challenging hike, be sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and appropriate gear. Due to the length and elevation gain of the trail, it is recommended for experienced hikers looking for a challenging adventure.
