This extremely difficult 14.4-kilometer circular hiking route on Camino del Abuznel offers breathtaking views and challenging terrain for experienced hikers. Starting at the trailhead, you'll come across the Area Recreativa Casa Leiva, a perfect spot for a picnic just a few meters from the trail. As you continue, you'll pass by the parking area for easy access to the trail.
About 0.4 kilometers from the start, you'll find the entrance to Cueva de los Mataos, a fascinating cave worth exploring. Further along the trail, at around 2.8 kilometers from the start, you'll reach Collado Ballesteros, a scenic saddle point offering stunning panoramic views.
At nearly 4 kilometers into the hike, you'll encounter a peak with an elevation gain of 380 meters. The trail then leads to another saddle at around 6.4 kilometers from the start, followed by two more peaks at 6.4 and 6.4 kilometers respectively. These vantage points provide the perfect opportunity to take in the surrounding natural beauty.
As you approach the 1.4-kilometer mark, make sure to visit the Salto del Molinico waterfall, a refreshing stop to rest and enjoy the sounds of nature. Finally, at about 2.8 kilometers from the start, you'll find an information point for any additional details about the area.
