The Mason Mill Central hiking route is an easy out-and-back trail that spans a distance of 3.23 kilometers with no elevation gain. The trail is located in a picturesque area with various points of interest along the way.
As you start your hike, you will come across a parking area known as Clairmont EFGH Deck, situated 0.37 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. Continuing on, at 0.11 kilometers into the hike, you will find a water feature. Further along the trail, at 0.79 kilometers, there is another parking area available for visitors.
One of the noteworthy attractions on this route is the Old Decatur Water Works, a historic site located 1.62 kilometers from the trailhead. Nearby, at the same distance, you will encounter some ruins, adding a touch of history to your journey.
For your convenience, there are additional parking spots located at the beginning of the trail, as well as water sources at 0.3 kilometers, 1.59 kilometers, and 1.62 kilometers into the hike. These stops provide opportunities to rest, refill your water supply, and enjoy the surroundings.
