This extremely difficult hike in the Les Laouchets area covers a distance of 13.827 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1343 meters, taking approximately 6 hours and 33 minutes to complete.
Starting at the parking area which is 0.3 kilometers from the trailhead, hikers will make their way towards the Col de la Portette, a saddle located 5.39 kilometers from the start. Along the way, hikers will pass by the Refuge de Platé at 4.13 kilometers, an alpine hut where they can take a break and enjoy the surroundings.
Continuing on the trail, hikers will come across various water sources such as Les Laouchets at 6.7 kilometers, as well as other natural water spots including Les Laouchets at 6.91 kilometers. It is advised to carry enough water for the journey as some of these water sources may not be directly on the trail.
As you venture further into the hike, you will encounter viewpoints like Désert de Platé at 6.3 kilometers, offering stunning vistas of the area. Additionally, there are informational points along the route such as La Portette at 5.63 kilometers, providing insights into the surroundings.
