This extremely difficult 15.5-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the stunning natural beauty of the area around Cascate basse 2. With an elevation gain of 789 meters, this hike is not for the faint of heart, but the breathtaking views and unique landmarks along the way make it a truly rewarding experience.
As you start your journey, you will pass by the parking area before beginning your ascent towards the first point of interest, Monte lo Spicchio, located 5.5 kilometers from the trailhead. This peak offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and serves as a great introduction to the rugged terrain you will encounter on this hike.
Continuing on, you will encounter various other points of interest, including Il Vergatoio, Monte la Croce, Voragine del Legno Stregone, Scialet de la Fronde, and Grotta del Frastuono. These caves and peaks add a sense of mystery and adventure to your trek, with some offering off-trail exploration opportunities.
Midway through the hike, you will reach Passo Porraia, a saddle where you can take a well-deserved break and enjoy the stunning scenery before continuing on. Along the way, you will also encounter drinking water sources to refill your water bottle and stay hydrated.
As you near the end of the route, you will be treated to the sight of Cascata alta 2, Cascata alta 1, Cascata bassa 1, Cascata alta 3, and Cascata alta 4, a series of beautiful waterfalls that provide a peaceful and serene atmosphere to rest and rejuvenate.
