This extremely difficult hiking route will take you through the stunning area surrounding Breitkopf. The 13.378-kilometer trail features an elevation gain of 1181 meters and is estimated to take about 6 hours to complete.
As you start your hike, you will come across an alpine hut about 4.52 kilometers from the trailhead, where you can take a break and enjoy some sustenance at a fast-food spot nearby. Further along the trail at around 4.5 kilometers, you will find a natural water source to refill your bottles.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 6.52 kilometers from the start, you will encounter an information center and a natural saddle where you can learn more about the area and take in the beautiful surroundings.
Continuing along the trail, you will reach the peak of Breitkopf at 6.69 kilometers, offering breathtaking views of the landscape. Additionally, there are historic sites such as a wayside shrine at 4.41 kilometers and benches along the trail for hikers to rest and take in the scenery.
It is important to note that some points of interest may be slightly off the main trail, so be sure to keep an eye out for signs indicating their locations. The trail is an out-and-back route, so you will retrace your steps on the way back.
