This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area around Grosse Sunnenberg. The trail is 2.516 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 156 meters, making it a relatively easy hike suitable for all skill levels.
As you start your journey, you'll come across a parking area just 0.04 kilometers from the trailhead. As you continue, at a distance of 1.09 kilometers, you'll reach the Aussichtsturm Sonnenberg viewpoint, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surroundings.
Along the way, you'll also encounter Chlei Sunnenberg information point (0.04 km), a picnic site with BBQ facilities (0.04 km), and a BBQ spot (0.63 km) for a quick rest and meal. There are benches at 0.68 km and 0.87 km for a peaceful break amidst nature.
As you make your way back, you'll spot an old wayside shrine, alter Grenzstein, at 0.98 km. Further ahead, at 1.1 km, you'll find Sunnenberg information point and a picnic site at 1.11 km. The highlight of the hike, Grosse Sunnenberg peak, is located at 1.26 km from the start.
