Welcome to the Mortelweg hiking route! The Mortelweg trail is a 2.288-kilometer circular route that offers an easy hike with no significant elevation gain. The trail takes you through a picturesque area with various points of interest along the way.
At the beginning of the hike, you will find a parking area where you can leave your vehicle before starting your adventure. Make sure to bring enough water and check the weather forecast before heading out.
As you start on the trail, you will come across a wayside shrine known as Kapel O.L.V. Onbevlekte Ontvangenis. This historic site is located about 0.62 kilometers from the start of the trail. Further along, you will encounter a shelter for hikers, providing a nice resting spot to take in the surrounding nature.
Throughout the hike, you will also pass by several benches where you can sit and enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the area. Some benches are located closer to the trail, while others are a bit further away. One of the benches offers a scenic view and is located at a distance of 0.08 kilometers from the start of the trail.
For nature enthusiasts, there are also water sources along the route, allowing you to refill your supplies if needed. These natural water spots are spread out along the trail, with the closest one being at a distance of 0.76 kilometers from the start.
As you approach the end of the hike, you will find more benches and another wayside shrine before reaching back to the starting point. Overall, the Mortelweg trail provides a relaxing and enjoyable hiking experience for all skill levels.
