This hiking route to Piz Martegnas is set in a beautiful area with stunning views and challenging terrain. The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 14.616 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1083 meters, making it extremely difficult.
Starting at the trailhead, hikers will pass by various points of interest along the way. At 0.02 kilometers from the start, you will find the information spot known as Cresta da Lai, providing insightful details about the area. Moving further along, at 0.12 kilometers, there is a picnic site at a short distance from the trail.
As you continue your journey, at 0.36 kilometers, you will come across Pro Barlegn, another information point with valuable knowledge about the surroundings. Further ahead at 0.94 kilometers, Lungatigia offers more information about the area.
Midway through the hike, at 3.18 kilometers, you'll reach Lai Lung, a serene water spot away from the trail. Adjacent to it, there is a picnic site for a restful break at 3.79 kilometers from the start. At 3.91 kilometers, another water source awaits nearby.
One of the highlights of the trail is the majestic peak, Piz Martegnas, located at 7.31 kilometers from the start. This spot offers unparalleled panoramic views, making the arduous trek worth the effort. Additionally, at 7.26 kilometers, a viewpoint provides a perfect vantage point to take in the breathtaking scenery.
Towards the end of the hike, at 4.68 kilometers, the Berghaus Somtgant restaurant offers a place to refuel and recharge before the trek back. Finally, at 4.8 kilometers, the GS Startplatz 1 Somtgant serves as a takeoff point for free-flying enthusiasts.
