Located in a picturesque area, the Via Val d'Arma hiking route offers a challenging and rewarding experience for outdoor enthusiasts. With a total distance of 17.783 kilometers and an elevation gain of 956 meters, this trail is classified as extremely difficult and is recommended for experienced hikers.
As you embark on this out-and-back route, you will encounter various points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you will find parking facilities for your convenience. As you make your way through the hike, you will come across "La Meiro," a food court where you can refuel and rest at the 1.62-kilometer mark.
Continuing onwards, at about 5.33 kilometers from the start, you will reach "Colle Viribianc," a saddle with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. This is a great spot to take in the scenery and capture some memorable photos.
Along the trail, there are also informative points such as "Valle Grana, una piccola grande valle" and "Percorso storico-culturale Cammino di San Magno" where you can learn more about the history and culture of the area.
For your convenience, there are drinking water stations and a fountain at various points along the route to keep you hydrated. Additionally, there are benches and viewpoints strategically placed for you to take a break and admire the beauty of the surroundings.
Towards the end of the trail, approximately 8.89 kilometers from the start, you will find "Rifugio Maraman," an alpine hut where you can rest and spend the night if you choose to extend your hike. Finally, as you make your way back, you can stop by the wayside shrine "San Magno" at 1.56 kilometers from the starting point.
