This extremely difficult circular hiking route will take you to the breathtaking Pic de Baljésou area. With a total distance of 33.952 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1907 meters, this hike is not for the faint-hearted.
Starting at the parking area near Restaurant Café Rousse, you'll begin your journey towards the ancient rendezvous de chasse des Comtes de Foix, situated at 4.57 kilometers from the start. As you trek further, you'll encounter a beautiful fountain at 4.55 kilometers, perfect for a quick rest stop.
Midway through the hike, you'll reach the Cabane du Cap Long wilderness hut at 11.79 kilometers from the start, providing a great spot to take in the surrounding nature. Continuing on, you'll come across the Col de Lars saddle at 12.61 kilometers, offering stunning panoramic views of the area.
At 14.4 kilometers from the beginning, you'll find the Cabane de Pinardel - Vicdessos shelter, a cozy place to recharge before tackling the rest of the journey. Don't forget to visit the water source at 14.4 kilometers, providing a refreshing break along the trail.
As you approach the latter part of the hike, you'll reach the Pic du Midi de Siguer peak at 15.11 kilometers and the Cabanes du col de Bayle - Vicdessos shelter at 15.85 kilometers. Finally, at 16.91 kilometers from the start, you'll conquer the majestic Pic de Baljésou peak, offering unparalleled views of the surrounding natural beauty.
