Welcome to the Postweg hiking route!

The Postweg trail is a scenic circular route covering a distance of approximately 2.5 kilometers with an elevation gain of 34 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for beginners and families. The duration of the hike is around 40 minutes.

Starting at the parking lot at Parkplatz Externsteine, you will first pass by the Oberer Teich, a beautiful water feature located just 0.47 kilometers from the start. As you continue on the trail, you will encounter several benches and water sources along the way, perfect for a quick rest or a refreshing break.

Around the midway point of the hike, you will come across informational points such as Radnetz: Horn-Bad Meinberg - Europaradweg R1, Die Externsteine, and Natur trifft Kultur am Fels, providing insights into the history and nature of the area.

Be sure to check out the various viewpoints and attractions, including Grotte, Kreuzabnahmerelief, and Wackelstein, offering panoramic views and unique geological features.
