This hiking route is a super easy trail located in the area of Externsteiner Straße. The trail covers a distance of approximately 1.047 kilometers with no elevation gain, making it suitable for hikers of all levels.
As you start your hike, you will come across several points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you will find parking at Parkplatz Externsteine, which is wheelchair accessible. Further along, there are benches where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. You will also pass by the Oberer Teich, a water feature located about 0.49 kilometers from the start.
Midway through the hike, you will encounter the Grotte, an archaeological site, and the Die Externsteine information point. Make sure to stop by the Felsenwirt restaurant for a meal before continuing on your journey. As you reach the endpoint of the trail, you can explore the Natur trifft Kultur am Fels information center and the Höhenkammer archaeological site.
Along the trail, there are plenty of benches and viewpoints where you can rest and take in the scenic views.
