This challenging circular hiking route will take you through the stunning area around Cap Gros. The 9.033 km trail with an elevation gain of 569 meters will provide you with breathtaking views and a variety of different points of interest along the way.
Starting your journey at the parking area, you will first come across "Le Virage," a popular climbing spot located 1.34 km from the start of the trail. As you continue, you will pass by "La Cathédrale," a striking rock formation perfect for climbing, 2.82 km into your hike. Just a bit further along the trail, at 3.38 km, you will reach the peak known as "Grande Candelle," offering panoramic views of the area.
Midway through your hike, at 4.37 km, you will encounter "Cap Gros," a stunning viewpoint that is perfect for a quick rest and some photos. Further on, you will come across "Pas du Saut du Chat," a saddle rock formation located 4.31 km from the start of the trail.
Throughout the hike, you will also pass by various other points of interest, including information boards about the human activity in the Calanques, the birdlife in the cliffs, and a shelter for hikers to take a break.
With a duration of approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, this difficult hike is best suited for experienced hikers. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen, as well as checking the weather forecast before setting out.
