Welcome to the hiking route to Neptune's Staircase on the B8004 road. This super easy route spans a distance of 0.792 kilometers with no elevation gain, making it perfect for hikers of all levels.
Starting at the parking area near the trailhead, you'll soon come across Neptune's Staircase, a popular attraction in the area located just 0.18 kilometers from the start. This impressive feat of engineering consists of a series of locks on the Caledonian Canal.
As you continue along the trail, you'll encounter various water bodies, including smaller streams and larger bodies of water, such as Loch Lochy, making for scenic views throughout your hike. These water features are scattered along the trail, with some closer to the beginning and others further along at the 0.3 to 0.4 kilometer mark.
If you're in need of a break, "The Lochy" pub is just a short distance away from the trail, providing a convenient spot to refuel and relax. Remember to bring plenty of water and snacks for your hike, as amenities may be limited along the way.
As you near the end of the route, you'll find additional parking areas for those who have driven to the trailhead. A bench is also available around the 0.07 kilometer mark, offering a nice resting spot with views of the surrounding area.
