Welcome to La Raspe hiking route, a challenging and extremely difficult out-and-back trail spanning 13.472 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1009 meters.
The trail starts at the parking area near Cabane de Coumebière, a non-guarded shelter. As you begin your journey, you'll pass by an information point at Coumebière, providing insights into the area. Shortly after, you'll come across a picnic site, where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding scenery.
As you continue on, you'll reach Abreuvoir, another information point, providing more details about the trail. The path then leads you to Étang de Labant, a beautiful water area about 1.36 kilometers away from the start, where you can immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature.
Further along the trail, you'll encounter various water points, including Cabane Anè Labeilla and several natural springs. Be sure to stay hydrated and refill your water bottles at these locations.
Midway through the hike, you'll reach Col de las Fouzès, a natural saddle offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. As you trek on, you'll pass by peaks such as Pic des Planes and Pic de Fouziès, where you can marvel at the stunning vistas from higher vantage points.
Towards the end of the trail, you'll reach Col de Morech, another saddle providing a resting spot before heading back. Ensure you have enough energy to make the return journey as the trail presents a challenging terrain.
Before embarking on this hike, it is advisable to check the weather forecast, carry plenty of water, and wear appropriate hiking gear. This route is recommended for experienced hikers due to its length and elevation gain.
