The hiking route to Becca Pouegnenta is an extremely difficult 13.063-kilometer out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 808 meters, taking approximately 5 hours and 2 minutes to complete.
The trail starts at the parking area near Genzianella picnic site. As you begin your journey, you will pass by a drinking water point just 40 meters from the start, so make sure to fill up your water bottles before heading out. Along the way, you will encounter several viewpoints that offer stunning panoramas of the surrounding area. These viewpoints are perfect spots to take a break, snap some photos, and appreciate the beauty of the landscape.
About 3.21 kilometers into the hike, you will come across Arpy Piccolo Nord, a small water feature located just 24 meters from the trail. Continuing on, at the 3.31-kilometer mark, you will find Arpy Piccolo Sud, another water feature situated 44 meters from the trail.
As you trek further, you will reach Lago d'Arpy, a picturesque lake located 3.2 kilometers from the start of the trail. This serene spot is perfect for a rest or a snack before continuing your journey.
Midway through the hike, you will encounter Colle San Carlo, a saddle point right on the trail, offering a brief respite before you push on towards your final destination.
At the 6.53-kilometer mark, you will reach Becca Pouegnenta, a prominent peak that serves as the endpoint of the trail. The summit rewards hikers with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, making the challenging trek well worth it.
