This hiking route in the Crosthwaite and Lyth area offers a moderate level of difficulty, covering a distance of approximately 5.7 kilometers with an elevation gain of 180 meters.
Starting at the parking area, hikers will pass by a bench around 1.15 kilometers into the hike, providing a nice spot to rest and enjoy the surroundings. Continuing along the trail, at approximately 1.4 kilometers into the hike, you will come across a cave entrance and a viewpoint, offering unique attractions along the way.
Around 2.6 kilometers into the hike, there is a peak that can be accessed within close proximity to the trail, providing a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding area. Midway through the hike, hikers can explore the cave entrance and take in the scenic viewpoint.
Although there is a peak around 1.96 kilometers from the start, it is not directly on the trail and may require a bit of a detour to reach. Therefore, it is recommended for more experienced hikers who are comfortable with off-trail exploration.
