This hiking route takes you along the Chemin de Niolon, also known as the Chemin de Ceinture, in Marseille. The trail is 7.009 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 385 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding hike.
Starting at a parking area just 0.05 kilometers from the trailhead, you'll pass by a charming Ferme pédagogique (educational farm) 0.05 kilometers in and a zoo called Ferme pédagogique a short distance away. As you continue, at 1.4 kilometers in, you'll come across the historic Pilon du Roi wayside cross, providing a cultural touch to your hike.
At the midway point, 3.2 kilometers from the start, you'll find the Grotte des maquisards memorial, a poignant spot to take a break and reflect. Further along, at 2.85 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the Luminier peak offering stunning views of the surroundings.
For nature enthusiasts, the trail also includes a wayside cross, viewpoints, and a peak. The trail ends at a viewpoint 3.5 kilometers from the start.
