This hiking route takes you through a beautiful and challenging terrain, offering stunning views and historical points of interest along the way.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by a drinking water spot and a parking area, making it convenient to begin your journey. As you ascend, you will come across the Col de l'Ours, a natural saddle point with picturesque views. Further along the trail, you will encounter the Bivacco X and Bivacco XI ruins, providing a glimpse into the area's historic past.
Midway through the hike, you will reach the Col des Desertes, another stunning saddle point offering a moment of respite before continuing on. As you near the summit, you will find the Pointe de Cloutzau, a natural peak with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Throughout the trail, you will also come across several facilities such as benches for resting and information points to learn more about the area. It is important to bring an ample supply of water, as the trail is long (17.48 kilometers) and the elevation gain is significant (1592 meters).
Due to the length and elevation gain, this hike is rated as extremely difficult, so it is recommended for experienced hikers.
