This hiking route is located in a beautiful area with stunning views of nature. The route is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 16.457 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1479 meters, making it extremely difficult.
As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area just 3.005 kilometers from the beginning of the trail, where you can safely leave your vehicle before starting the hike. As you progress, you will encounter the ruins of an ancient bocard, 165.819 meters away from the trail, providing a glimpse into the area's historic past.
Further along the trail, at 1.18 kilometers from the start, you will find the refreshing Source piste Bentaillou, a natural spring where you can replenish your water supply. Continuing on, at 1.9 kilometers from the start, you will come across a picturesque waterfall, offering a perfect spot to rest and take in the beauty of the surroundings.
Midway through the hike, approximately 7.57 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Cabane de l'Étang d'Araing - Castillonais, a wilderness hut where you can take a break and enjoy the serene atmosphere of the area. As you near the end of the trail, at 8.23 kilometers from the start, you will find the Refuge Jacques Husson, an alpine hut where you can spend the night and enjoy the amenities offered.
