This hiking route leads you through the beautiful Glungezer mountain area, offering stunning views and challenging terrain. The total distance of the route is 17.8 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1633 meters, making it extremely difficult and suitable for experienced hikers.
The trail starts at a parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on the journey. As you make your way along the path, you will come across various points of interest. About 8.75 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Glungezerhütte alpine hut, offering a place to rest and enjoy a meal. Further along the trail, at around 1.78 kilometers from the start, you will pass by the Rinner Alm restaurant, where you can refuel and refresh yourself.
Throughout the hike, you will encounter several benches and information points, providing you with insights into the surrounding area and a chance to take a break. It's recommended to bring an ample water supply, especially on hot days, as some of the drinking water points are located at a distance from the trail.
As you continue on the trail, you will also pass by other landmarks such as the Sonnenspitze peak and the Jöchelesbründl spring. The trail is a circular route, so you will eventually make your way back to the starting point.
