The route covers a distance of approximately 14.026 kilometers with an elevation gain of 745 meters, making it extremely difficult and suitable for experienced hikers. It is estimated to take around 5 hours and 6 minutes to complete, so be prepared for a full day of hiking.

As you begin your journey, you will pass by several points of interest along the way. At the start of the trail, you will find the picturesque Lac Long, located just 5.74 kilometers from the beginning. This serene lake provides a peaceful setting for a quick rest stop or a snack break.

Further along the trail, at the 3.6 kilometer mark, you will come across the historic AP de la Vallée-Etroite fort, offering a glimpse into the area's past. For those looking to spend the night in the wilderness, the Refuge du Mont Thabor is conveniently located 5.05 kilometers from the start.

Along the route, you will also encounter various water points, such as Lac Rond, midway through the hike, and several other natural water sources for replenishing your supplies. Be sure to bring enough water with you, as well as snacks and a packed lunch to fuel your adventure.

For general provisions, there are also drinking water stations and informational points scattered along the trail. Additionally, a parking area is available at the trailhead for those arriving by car, just 0.05 kilometers from the start.

As you traverse the landscape, keep an eye out for the wayside cross at the 3.06 kilometer mark and the viewpoint at 3.4 kilometers, offering panoramic vistas of the surrounding area.
