This extremely difficult 13.365 km circular hiking route in the D 113 area offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for seasoned hikers. The trail begins at a convenient parking area at the start of the route. As you start your journey, you will pass by the Moulin De La Foux ruins, located 3.5 km from the starting point. Further along the trail at the 6.56 km mark, you will reach a viewpoint at Roc du Ceisse, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Throughout the hike, you will encounter several points of interest such as Moulins de la Foux (3.5 km), Foux de la Vis spring (3.56 km), and Baume cave entrance (4.53 km), adding to the unique charm of the route. Information boards along the trail provide insights into the history of the Moulins and the surrounding area.
It is important to note that the trail also passes by the Gorges de la Vis (5.56 km) and Event de Bergougnous cave entrance (1.22 km), although they are slightly off the main trail. At the 6.24 km mark, you will find the Sentier botanique de Vissec, offering a botanical experience for nature enthusiasts.
Due to the length of the hike and elevation gain of 286 meters, this route is recommended for experienced hikers. Ensure you are well-prepared with sufficient water, snacks, and proper hiking gear. Checking the weather forecast before embarking on this journey is also advisable.
