This hiking route takes you through the breathtaking Almkogel area, offering stunning views and challenging terrain. The route is an out-and-back trail with a total distance of 11.979 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1353 meters, making it extremely difficult.

As you start your adventure, you will come across the Parkplatz Baumschlagerreith parking area, situated just 6.57 meters from the trailhead. Further along the trail, at 2.72 kilometers from the start, you will find the Lögeralm shelter where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding nature.

Continuing on, at 3.16 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Lögerhütte shelter, another great spot to rest and refuel. As you push forward, the Almkogel peak awaits you at 5.99 kilometers from the start, offering panoramic views of the area.

At 1.83 kilometers from the start, you will find the Hagstein (Hochstein) viewpoint, providing a perfect vantage point to take in the beauty of the surroundings. Along the way, there are also information points such as the Lögerhütte information post at 3.16 kilometers from the start, providing insights into the area's history and wildlife.

Before you head back, make sure to visit the Hochsteinscharte saddle at 4.5 kilometers from the start, offering a unique natural feature to explore. Finally, you can stop by the Almgasthof Baumschlagerreith restaurant at just 0.04 kilometers from the start to grab a bite to eat and relax after your journey.

Please note that this hike is extremely challenging due to its length and elevation gain, so it is recommended to be well-prepared with proper hiking gear, sufficient water, and snacks.
