Welcome to the Sendero hacia Paramo hiking route in Bogotá! This challenging out-and-back trail spans a distance of 7.2 kilometers with an elevation gain of 586 meters, taking approximately 3 hours and 8 minutes to complete.
As you begin your hike, you'll find a parking area conveniently located at the trailhead. Be sure to start early and bring plenty of water, as the trail can be steep and strenuous. Around 2.3 kilometers into your hike, you'll come across "Claro de Luna," an information point where you can learn more about the area and its significance.
Continuing onwards, at the 3.1 kilometer mark, you'll reach a viewpoint offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Take a moment to soak in the beauty before pushing onwards. As you approach the 3.6 kilometer mark, another viewpoint awaits, providing a chance to capture some stunning photos.
Along the way, you'll also come across several benches where you can rest and enjoy the serene surroundings. Additionally, at the 0.88 kilometer point, there is a bicycle parking area available for those who prefer to explore on two wheels.
As you ascend the trail, be prepared for varying terrain and weather conditions. It's important to check the forecast before embarking on your journey and dress accordingly. Safety is paramount, so be sure to stay on the designated trail and follow all guidelines.
Upon reaching the turnaround point, take a moment to rest at one of the shelters located at the 2.38 and 2.71 kilometer marks before beginning your journey back.
