Located in the stunning mountainous region, this extremely difficult 12.555-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to the breathtaking Mont Giraud. With an elevation gain of 782 meters, this trail is not for the faint of heart.
Starting at Millefonts parking area, you will begin your journey towards the majestic peak. As you trek along the trail, you will pass by the tranquil Lac Petit approximately 1.95 kilometers from the start, offering a picturesque spot for a quick break.
Further along the trail, at around 3.2 kilometers from the start, you will come across the Col Ferrière saddle, providing a perfect vantage point to admire the surrounding landscapes. Additionally, at 5.67 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Tête de Velai peak, offering stunning panoramic views of the area.
Continuing onwards, you will encounter the Tête Rol peak at 5.12 kilometers from the start, followed by the Tête de la Tranche peak at 4.3 kilometers from the start, each offering unique perspectives of the surroundings. Finally, reaching the endpoint at Mont Giraud, you will be rewarded with unparalleled views that make the challenging trek worthwhile.
