This extremely difficult hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Daumenzug. With a total distance of 17.262 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1607.0 meters, this hike is not for the faint of heart. It is estimated to take around 8 hours to complete, so be sure to pack plenty of water and snacks.
Starting at the parking area near Säge, you will begin your journey. After approximately 5.9 kilometers, you will come across a stunning rock formation. As you continue onward, you will reach the Daumenzug rock formation at around 8.63 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take in the breathtaking views and snap some photos.
Further along the trail, at 6.09 kilometers from the start, you will encounter the Rotspitze peak followed by the Kleiner Daumen peak at 8.45 kilometers. These peaks offer panoramic views of the surrounding area and are perfect for a rest break.
As you make your way back, be sure to stop by the shelter located at 4.24 kilometers from the start for a quick rest. Throughout the hike, you will also come across various information points and benches where you can learn more about the area and take a break.
