This hiking route takes you through the scenic area of Chemin de la Merle. The trail is 2.99 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 228 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for beginners and families.

As you start your journey, you will come across the "Balcon des Contrebandiers" offering panoramic views of the surroundings. Further along the trail, you will reach the "Col des contrebandiers," a natural saddle just 0.02 kilometers from the start. Don't forget to check out the "Panneau ONF" information board nearby.

For those driving to the trailhead, there is parking available at a distance of 0.0 kilometers. As you continue hiking, you will encounter the "Mont Baret" peak which is 0.91 kilometers from the trail's beginning. Take a moment to rest at the "Le Col des Contrebandiers" bench located 0.02 kilometers from the start.

One of the highlights of this hike is the stunning viewpoints along the way. The "Viewpoint 1" offers breathtaking vistas 1.5 kilometers into the hike, while "Viewpoint 2" and "Viewpoint 3" provide equally captivating scenery at 0.38 kilometers and 0.77 kilometers from the start, respectively. Don't miss out on the "Viewpoint 4" located 0.41 kilometers from the trailhead.
