This challenging 11.882-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the stunning natural beauty of the Refuge du Col de la Vanoise area. With an elevation gain of 853 meters, this hike is considered difficult and is best suited for experienced hikers.
Starting at the Parking des Fontanettes, you will begin your journey towards Pont du Creuset, located 0.6 kilometers from the starting point. As you continue along the trail, you will pass by the Auberge des Fontanettes at the beginning of your hike, where you can grab a bite to eat before embarking on your adventure.
Midway through the hike, you will reach Lac des Assiettes, a beautiful natural water feature located 5.27 kilometers from the start of the trail. This is a great spot to take a break, enjoy the scenery, and replenish your water supply.
Further along the route, you will encounter the Refuge du Col de la Vanoise, an alpine hut located 5.79 kilometers from the starting point. This is a perfect place to rest and refuel before continuing your journey.
Throughout the hike, you will also come across various points of interest such as Cirque D'Arcellin and Arrivée Edelweiss, where you can learn more about the history and natural heritage of the area.
