This extremely difficult 16.189-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will lead you to the stunning Großer Solstein peak. The trail starts at a parking area where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on this challenging adventure. Before you begin your journey, make sure to check the weather forecast and pack enough water for the long hike ahead.

As you start the hike, you will come across the Kranebitterhof campsite, where you can take a break and enjoy the surroundings. Further along the trail, at a distance of 5.61 kilometers from the start, you will find the Jägerhäusl wilderness hut where you can rest and refuel before continuing your ascent.

Midway through the hike, at around 5.5 kilometers from the start, you'll pass by a natural water source, providing a refreshing spot to replenish your water supply. As you approach the peak, you will encounter the Neue Magdeburger Hütte alpine hut, offering a place to rest and take in the breathtaking views.
