The Route du Pont du Gard is a super easy hiking trail that spans 1.416 kilometers with an elevation gain of 34 meters, making it perfect for hikers of all levels. The trail is a circular route that starts at the Pont-du-Gard rive droite parking area.
As you begin your journey, you'll come across the Pont-du-Gard rive droite (payant) parking area, located right at the start of the trail. As you continue along the path, you'll pass by the Pont de Valmale archaeological site, offering a glimpse into the historic significance of the area.
Midway through the hike, you'll encounter the Tunnel ruins and the Pont du Gard information point, providing insights into the aqueduct's history and construction. Be sure to take a moment to appreciate the views from the Combe de Roussière viewpoint, offering stunning panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape.
Towards the end of the trail, you'll find the La Terrasse restaurant and Les Petites Terrasses fast food spot, perfect for refueling after your hike. Additionally, the Vestiges de l'aqueduc information point offers further details about the aqueduct's remnants in the area.
