This hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with various points of interest along the trail. The trail is an out-and-back route named "Sentier du Mur Païen - Sentier du Mur Païen" and covers a distance of 4.174 kilometers with an elevation gain of 139 meters, taking about 1 hour and 18 minutes to complete.

Starting at the parking area, the trail begins with an easy walk through the forest. About 1.08 kilometers from the start, you will come across a historic castle followed by another castle 1.12 kilometers into the hike. Along the way, you will also find benches for resting (0.01 kilometers from the start) and city walls dating back to ancient times at 2.05 kilometers into the route.

At the midway point of the hike (1.62 kilometers from the start), there is a cave entrance known as "Grotte d'Etichon" where you can explore the natural wonders. Further along the trail, at 2.08 kilometers, you will find a viewpoint offering stunning views of the surroundings. Additionally, there are information points scattered throughout the route for you to learn more about the area's history and landmarks.

As you continue the hike, you will encounter more ruins and archaeological sites, such as "Porte de Koeberle" at 1.1 kilometers from the start and "Porte Nord" at 2.08 kilometers. The trail also passes by Château de Dreistein occidental at 1.03 kilometers and Roche Stollhafen at 1.45 kilometers, adding to the historical significance of the journey.

Although the trail is relatively easy in terms of difficulty, it is important to bring enough water and check the weather forecast before heading out. With a mix of natural and historic attractions, this hike offers a diverse and enriching experience for all outdoor enthusiasts.
