This hiking route, known as the Sentier des Merveilles, offers a delightful trek through a scenic area with a total distance of approximately 4.8 kilometers and an elevation gain of 139 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for beginners and families.
Starting at the parking area, hikers will venture into the trail surrounded by picturesque landscapes. Along the way, you will encounter various points of interest. At the beginning of the trail, only 0.01 kilometers from the start, you will find a conveniently placed bench to take a rest at the Grotte d'Etichon.
As you progress further, historic landmarks like the Château de Dreistein occidental and the ruins of ancient structures will be visible at different points along the route. These remnants of the past add a sense of intrigue to the journey, with each site offering a glimpse into the area's rich history.
Midway through the hike, approximately 1.56 kilometers from the start, you will come across the Porte Nord, an archaeological site known for its ancient architecture. This serves as a perfect spot to learn more about the region's heritage.
