Welcome to the hiking route to Kappler Kopf, an extremely difficult 14.856-kilometer out-and-back trail that offers breathtaking views and challenging terrain.
The hike starts at the trailhead where you will find useful information at the information point. As you begin the hike, you will pass by Cafe Hubertus, a great spot to grab a snack before embarking on the journey. Further along the trail, you will come across Gasthof Krone and Hotel Post, where you can stop for a meal or rest.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 6.5 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Niederelbehütte alpine hut. This is a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the stunning surroundings. As you continue, you will encounter Seßsee, a beautiful lake located about 6.4 kilometers from the start, offering a serene setting for a peaceful moment.
Towards the end of the trail, at around 7.43 kilometers from the start, you will reach the peak of Kappler Kopf, providing you with panoramic views as a reward for your hard work. Additionally, you will find Seßgratjoch, a saddle point, at approximately 6.65 kilometers from the start, adding to the natural beauty of the route.
Throughout the hike, you will have access to water sources such as rivers and waterfalls, but it is always recommended to carry an adequate supply of water. With an elevation gain of 1116 meters, this hike is considered extremely difficult, so be prepared for steep inclines and challenging terrain.
