Located in the beautiful area of Banff National Park, this hiking route offers a challenging adventure for experienced hikers. With a total distance of 15.718 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1588 meters, this trail is labeled as extremely difficult and will take approximately 7 hours and 36 minutes to complete.
As you begin your journey, you will pass by Public Parking, located just 0.08 kilometers from the start. Further along the trail at 0.31 kilometers, you will come across the historic Fairmont Banff Springs building, which offers a glimpse into the area's past.
As you continue on, you will encounter various points of interest such as Bow Falls & Bow Lake, which are located 0.44 kilometers from the trail and are worth a visit for their scenic views. Additionally, at the 7.86-kilometer mark, you will reach the peak known as Rundle 1, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
For sustenance along the way, you can stop by Castello Ristorante, situated 0.04 kilometers from the trail, or Waldhaus Restaurant and Waldhaus Pub & Biergarten, located 0.46 and 0.57 kilometers away respectively.
It is important to note that some points of interest such as Spray River West Trailhead and Spray River are not directly on the trail, so be sure to plan your visit accordingly.
