Welcome to the Čekovnik hiking route! This challenging 8.48 km trail will take you through a beautiful area with a total elevation gain of 408 meters.

Starting at the parking area, you'll pass by the Aleš Bebler statue, a memorial dedicated to the historic figure. As you continue on the trail, you'll come across Grad Gewerkenegg, a castle that is located just 0.11 km from the beginning of the route. Make sure to check the opening hours if you plan to visit.

Along the way, you'll also find Gostilna pri Škafarju, a restaurant that offers a great place to refuel and take a break. Further ahead, at around 0.04 km from the start, you'll encounter the Karel fountain, a scenic spot worth exploring.

As you push forward, you'll reach the Čekovnik peak located approximately 4.24 km into the hike. This natural peak offers stunning views and is a perfect spot to rest and take in the surroundings before heading back.

Remember to bring plenty of water, as this is a difficult hike with a duration of almost 3 hours. Also, it's always a good idea to check the weather forecast before heading out.
