This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area of Baerenthal along the Route forestière du Kattenbach. With a total distance of 7.064 kilometers and an elevation gain of 436.0 meters, this hike is classified as difficult and is expected to take around 2 hours and 43 minutes to complete.
Starting at the parking area, you will begin your journey along the trail. About 3.53 kilometers into the hike, you will reach a stunning viewpoint where you can take in panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This is a great spot to take a break and capture some memorable photos.
Continuing on, at the 3.52 kilometer mark, you will come across a picnic site called Baerenthal. This is a perfect place to stop for a snack or enjoy a leisurely lunch surrounded by nature.
As you make your way back on the trail, you will pass by a rocky area approximately 6.25 meters from the trail. Take caution in this section as the terrain may be rugged.
Although there are peaks along the trail, they are not directly on the path and may require some off-trail exploration to reach. The Glaserberg peak is 3.39 kilometers from the start, while the peak at 2.96 kilometers offers a more challenging ascent.
