This hiking route will take you to Monte Palon, a beautiful area known for its stunning views and challenging terrain. The total distance of the hike is 10.55 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1156 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek.
Starting off at the trailhead, you will pass by a parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on the journey. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across several points of interest.
About 0.3 kilometers from the start, you will find Lago di Malciaussia, a picturesque lake where you can take a break and enjoy the serene surroundings. Further along the trail, at 4.05 kilometers from the start, you will reach Colle Croce di Ferro, a scenic saddle point offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
At 4.25 kilometers from the start, you will come across Capanna Sociale Aurelio Ravetto, an alpine hut where you can rest and refuel before continuing your journey. Additionally, at 5.28 kilometers from the start, you will encounter Monte Palon, a peak that offers sweeping views of the area.
Throughout the hike, you will also find several drinking water stations located at different points along the trail to help you stay hydrated. There are also picnic sites available at the beginning of the trail, perfect for a lunch break surrounded by nature.
