This challenging 9.1-kilometer circular hiking route will take you to the stunning Cima di Giarolo in a beautiful area surrounded by nature. The total elevation gain is 864 meters, so be prepared for some steep climbs along the way.
The trail starts at a convenient parking area, where you can leave your car before embarking on this adventure. Make sure to bring enough water and snacks for the journey, as well as proper hiking gear and sunscreen.
As you start your hike, you will come across a picturesque alpine hut called Rifugio Cesare Benigni, located 3.01 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. Here, you can rest and enjoy the stunning views while savoring some local delicacies.
Around the 3.46-kilometer mark, you will find a refreshing water source to refill your water bottles and take a break. Further along the trail, at the 4.16-kilometer point, you will reach Bocchetta di Valpianella, a beautiful saddle where you can admire the surrounding landscape.
At the halfway point, you can visit Cioky Bar, a cozy cafe located just 0.04 kilometers from the trail. Grab a quick snack or a warm drink to keep your energy up for the rest of the hike.
As you continue your journey, you will come across informational points and viewpoints that provide interesting facts about the area and offer breathtaking panoramas. Keep an eye out for the peak of Rocca di Pescegallo, located 2.22 kilometers from the start of the trail.
Finally, after a challenging but rewarding hike, you will reach the destination at Cima di Giarolo, a majestic peak with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Take a moment to soak in the beauty of the landscape before starting your descent back to the starting point.
