This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Rifugio Cesare Benigni. Starting at an elevation of 1453 meters, the trail will lead you to the alpine hut, which sits at an elevation of 2202 meters. The total distance of the hike is 6.042 kilometers with an elevation gain of 747 meters.
As you begin your journey, you will pass by the Cioky Bar, where you can grab a drink before heading out. Along the way, you will also come across some viewpoints offering stunning vistas of the surrounding landscapes. Be sure to take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the area.
About 3 kilometers into the hike, you will reach Lago Piazzotti, a serene water body offering a tranquil spot to rest and take in the surroundings. Continuing on, you will also encounter the Sorgente di Val Tronella, another water source adding to the natural charm of the area.
For a more challenging experience, you can extend your hike to Rocca di Pescegallo, a peak located about 2 kilometers from the alpine hut. This will offer you a rewarding view from a higher vantage point.
